So, no amount of plants or light bulbs are going to make you stay at your job? Well alright! Let me be the first to congratulate you. You’ve now made a decision and that is a very good position to be in.
Now, let’s take your decision and turn it into a plan. An action plan. Yes, a P-L-A-N. Unless your only plan involves giving the middle finger to your employer (in which case, you probably won’t be asking for a reference), it’s a really good idea to make a plan that will allow you to exit gracefully from your current job and transition as seamlessly as possible into your new opportunity.
Remember, the only person that has to live with the consequences of your decisions is you. Why not take the time to make it as easy as possible?
